Fall Happenings-Part 1

We are having an awesome autumn this year!  We have visited 2 farms, Montpelier Farm and Greenstreet Gardens.  The kids had a blast riding the barrel rides, going for a hay ride, playing in the straw bale maze and corn box and just enjoying being outside.  Here are some photos from the trip to Montpelier Farm.  Our who family came here and we met up with some of our friends.

Camping in Luray, VA!

This is our 3rd year in a row to go camping with friends at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Luray, VA.  This year we had a great group of friends sharing 3 cabins side by side by side.  Jacob had lots of friends to play with!  We arrived late on Thursday, so the fun really began on Friday.  We got wristbands for unlimited use of pedal boats and mini golf.  They were both lots of fun! We also made good use of the playground, fields and jumping pillows the campground house. Saturday the campground hosts lots of kid friendly activities, including paint a pumpkin, tie dying, a hayride, family relay races and trick or treating.  We did the hay ride and some trick or treating.  The kids (and the adults!) most favorite thing to do is drive around on golf carts.  We had 2 in our group and we had quite a bit of fun on them after the kiddos went to bed!  We had huge fires Friday and Saturday night to sit around.  Jacob already can't wait to go back, and I can't wait for the girls to be older and able to enjoy more things!

A Patriotic Good Time

The 4th of July is up there with one of my favorite holidays. For the past 5 years we have celebrated at our house on the 3rd with a big party (the 3rd because they shoot the fireworks off down by my house on the 3rd!). Our parties have tamed down a bit as we all have had children, but they are still a blast! This year, like last year, Jesse went crabbing with his friend. They did a great job and caught about 100 crabs in the scorching heat.

Yummm

We had lots of friends to help eat them and everyone brought more yummy goodies to share. The kiddos had their own table to eat at and I had the swimming pool set up for a splashing good time! Once the kids dried off and ate, we set up our moon bounce and they bounced away. It's so much fun to see how they have grown and changed over the last couple years. At first, they were in bouncy chairs and high chairs and now they can play on their own. I look forward to watching the current group of babies grow up and join the fun.

Finally its dark and we head down to the fire work show with glow sticks and glow necklaces. Jacob loves fire works and talks about them all the time! The girls liked them too and weren't afraid at all! Thankfully it did not rain during the fire works this year!

Our gang of kids is ever growing!

Ready to watch the show!

After the fire works, we all walked back to my house for some sparklers and other explosives. It's soooo nice not having to deal with traffic!!

Mommies lil firecracker!

Twinks in their 4th of July dresses!!

For the actual 4th of July I took the kids to Solomons Island and hung out with friends. It was so hot and humid, but the firework show was awesome! A good time had by all!

It's A Hot Pink Zebra Firetruck!

To celebrate Jacob's 3rd birthday and the girls' 1st birthday we had a joint party since their birthdays are only 8 days apart. Jacob wanted a firetruck party and I am obsessed with hot pink zebra, so we did both!

The night before the party one of my BFFs Amy helped make zebra cupcakes! Another BFF Sara made red cupcakes for Jacob's half of the party. I don't know what I would do without these two awesome ladies in my life. The morning of the party Amy picked me up to help decorate the room we rented at the rec center. Talk about crazy! We had so much to do in so little time! My mom and sister came to help set up, too.

Moon bounce ready to go!

The girls had special tutu dresses with headbands and zebra slippers (that I forgot about!) and Jacob had a fire truck shirt.

Friends and family soon started arriving and the party kicked off! The kids all had a blast in the moon bounce and running around the big room. I'm so glad I rented it! It was so nice having all our favorite people in the same room! The kids got so many wonderful gifts and we feel so blessed by everyone's thoughtfulness. Enjoy the rest of these pictures!

The Twincesses are 1!

On May 29 2012 my princess duo turned one! They went to daycare that day because I had to work, but they had cute tutu dresses on and got cupcakes for dessert. We also opened a few presents. Here are some photos from the big day :-)
